Tintin in Tibet (1960), a pure tale of friendship with not a single villain, follows Tintin's desperate search for his friend, the young Chinese boy Chang, who was travelling to Europe aboard an airliner that crashed in the Himalayas. This moving story, which breaks with the extroverted tone of the earlier adventures, shows that loyalty and hope can overcome every obstacle, and that prejudice - in this case, towards the "abominable snowman" - is so often born of ignorance.
