Considered one of Hergé's finest creations, the story of Tintin the reporter's adventures in the Far East was published in black and white in the supplement of the Belgian youth newspaper between 9 August 1934 and 17 October 1935. It marked a turning point in Hergé's career and sealed his friendship with the sculptor Tchang Tchong-jen.
