Caesar wants to make the pesky little Gaulish village disappear. To achieve this, he plans to build a model Roman city all around it. Thus, the isolated village will have to either vanish or adapt and become Roman, according to him.
The city's architect first encounters resistance from the Gauls, who prevent him from clearing the forest. However, they eventually allow it so that the slaves tasked with this work can be freed. Once the first building is constructed and the Roman tenants arrive, the situation quickly deteriorates in the small village: everyone seeks to take advantage of this new clientele.
