The 300 SL is regarded as the most emblematic of the Mercedes models built after the Second World War, for its originality and its technical and aesthetic qualities. "300" indicates the three-litre engine capacity and the "SL" terminology stands for "super-leicht" (meaning "very light"). As its price was high, production was very limited, with 80% sold in the United States. That is what makes it today one of the most expensive collector cars in the world...
