As Tintin and Haddock head to the hotel where General Alcazar is staying to hand back his wallet, they spot the general in the lobby alongside Dawson, the former police chief of the Shanghai International Settlement. Intrigued to see such a disreputable character in the general's company, Tintin decides to find out more about him. So when he sees Dawson leave the hotel and step into a luxurious limousine, he doesn't hesitate to leap into a taxi and give chase.
