Considered one of Herge's finest creations, the tale of The Adventures of Tintin, reporter in the Far East, was published in black and white in the supplement of the Belgian children's newspaper between 9 August 1934 and 17 October 1935. It marked a turning point in Herge's career and sealed his friendship with the sculptor Chang Chong-chen.
