The Marsupilami (a blend of the French words for marsupial and friend) is an imaginary animal created by André Franquin in 1952, appearing notably in the Spirou and Fantasio series. Blessed with herculean strength and an oversized yet remarkably useful prehensile tail, its whimsy fascinates as much as it amuses.
