The Smurfs is a Belgian comic series created by Peyo in 1958, telling the story of an imaginary people of little blue creatures living in a mushroom village in the middle of a vast forest. The first sixteen albums were published by their creator. Since his death on 24 December 1992, his son Thierry Culliford has overseen the publication of the new albums.
