Completely different from the standard edition, the Tintin plates published in Le Petit Vingtième between January 1929 and October 1932 reveal a rounder, more spontaneous and supple style, along with a sense of composition influenced by Art Deco.
In this early Hergé manner, the elegant stylisation that would blossom even more visibly from The Blue Lotus onward is already taking shape. This colourisation respects the black lines and flat areas drawn and laid down by Hergé, while offering a brand-new colour palette that heightens the readability of the story and the clarity of the drawings in surprising ways, giving these albums a fresh new reading.
This colourisation campaign covers the first nine albums originally serialised in Le Petit Vingtième and then Le Soir-Jeunesse.
Each volume opens with a preface that sheds light on the origins of these stories and their publication context, drawing on previously unpublished source material.
